Meet the Designer
Welcome to Silver Dragonfly, a range of handcrafted jewellery designed and made using sterling and Thai Karen silver, semi-precious stones and unusual beads sourced through living and travelling in China and South East Asia.
I am a British designer with a background in textiles and a love for art, nature and ethnic minority crafts.
My passion to be constantly creative led me to study jewellery making and silversmith techniques with local artisans and teachers.
I incorporate my love of textures, nature, colour and pattern into my silversmith work using hammering and stamping techniques.
All my pieces are individually designed by me and made completely by hand in my small home studio in Kuala Lumpur surrounded by beautiful tropical plants.

Designing is the real passion in what I do. I love to use the textures and colours I find in nature and feel very lucky to be surrounded by tropical vegetation. I find even small mosses and ferns have interesting textures. I research and source gemstones from small individual sellers from the first blue topaz I found on a trip to Sri Lanka, to the unusual Opalised wood a friend recommended in Indonesia.
I like to visit the trade fairs in Bangkok and Hong Kong when I get the opportunity and wander round the Jade and weekend markets looking for unusual beads and charms.

I have always spent time drawing, sketching and painting, which I find helps me focus my creativity and design process.

It is important to me to spend the time consulting with customers so I can interpret their individual design needs as best I can.
